Craig! I’m not seeing a dedicated post for the Scandinavian Elves episode from last December, so I thought I’d post this comment on this other episode with Benito.
Somehow I missed listening to that one last year, so when I was loading up my iPod (yes, I’m old like that) with Christmas podcasts, I was delighted to see the subject.
A great episode (as any with Benito is near guaranteed to be), and I was so thrilled when he brought up the Astrid Lindgren books. I have the versions with the breathtaking art of Harald Wiberg. “The Tomten” is my all-time favorite children’s book (actually, perhaps one of my all-time favorite books period!), and my husband and I have a tradition of reading it aloud on nights when it snows. Being in Minnesota, some years we read it a LOT. 😊 One of our dearly departed kitty’s nicknames was Nisse Katt, because she was always sneaking up on us on her “small, silent feet” (a line from “The Tomten”).
So, just thought I’d drop a line to say thanks for this cool episode, and all the others that I am revisiting this December. Next up, the annual relistening of the flash fiction contest episodes!
Take care, old friend!
